Rest In Peace, Leonard Nimoy.

Days ago Leonard Nimoy was rushed into hospital where he died this morning (27/02/2015) after end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Leonard Nimoy helped to shape modern science fiction as we know it. Most well known for his portrayal as Spock is one of the most well known pop culture characters in the entirety of the 20th Century, and certainly one of the 21st Century too.

A friend of mine said that he was “sure he’d tell us it’s illogical to feel sadness at the passing of a man we never met, but humans have never been the most logical of people”. I’m incredibly liable to agree with him.

Thank you, Leonard Nimoy, for everything that you contributed and for capturing our imaginations. Rest in peace.

Out of respect for Leonard Nimoy today’s Brontide will be postponed to next week.
